Newspaper In Education (NIE)
During his employment as a graphic designer for the Fort Myers News-Press, Jeff was very involved with the design needs of their Newspaper In Education Department. This full-page advertisement was created to express the need for additional program sponsors. Although the News-Press provided the newspapers to local schools at no charge, the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) required that the papers designated for schools must be paid for in order to not create false circulation numbers for the paper; circulation (readership) being the variable used to calculate advertising revenue. The local students used in the ad expressed the disappointment of unsponsored students that don’t receive newspapers in contrast with the delight of those who do.
